Prisma follows the S Group’s principles of responsibility and has implemented several environmentally friendly solutions. For example, our stores use energy-efficient systems, green energy, and eco-friendly CO2-based refrigeration equipment. Prisma’s goal is to achieve carbon neutrality by 2025, meaning we will capture more carbon from the air than we emit.
We actively contribute to reducing food waste. By using precise order forecasting and automated ordering systems, we minimize food loss. Products nearing their expiration date are offered a 30% discount early in the day and a 60% discount after 8 PM. We also donate food daily to the Estonian Food Bank and support other food aid initiatives.
Prisma is committed to promoting a circular economy by providing customers with the opportunity to return used batteries, small electronics, and tare. Several Prisma stores also have collection points for second-hand clothing, in partnership with Uuskasutuskeskus. In 2023, we joined forces with GreenDice to launch an eco-friendly electronics recycling program. This initiative allows us to monitor the life cycle of IT equipment and measure its reuse.
Through scheduled device replacements, we direct quality IT equipment into reuse, giving consumers the opportunity to opt for more durable devices instead of cheaper options. GreenDice assists us in transparently measuring and reporting the usage of these devices.
We offer customers several affordable private labels, such as Änglamark, which includes environmentally friendly and responsibly produced products. The brand’s goal is to make high-quality, eco- and allergy-friendly products accessible to everyone at an affordable price. Änglamark allows customers to make conscious choices without compromising on taste or quality.
Änglamark offers a wide range of products, including food items, hygiene products, household cleaners, and diapers. All Änglamark products carry a sustainability certification, ensuring that you’re making a truly responsible and eco-friendly choice. Additionally, Änglamark’s hygiene and cleaning products are marked with the Nordic Swan Ecolabel, a trusted symbol of environmental excellence.
Our goal is to ensure that all clothing sold at Prisma, especially children's clothing, is produced ethically and with minimal environmental impact. By the end of 2025, we aim to use only sustainably sourced cotton in our private label clothing (House, Ciraf, Luode12, WKLY) as well as in imported garments and textiles, in line with fair trade principles.
